Resolutions

Happy new year!

For 2015, I have decided that my resolution is to do something to better myself each month. I usually pick something that is too easy and get bored, or I pick something to hard and give up.

But not this year! With my 12-mini resolutions decided, I'm jumping into January's...

My Favorite (everyday) Shoes

Last year at the annual JDRF Night of Hope gala in Baltimore, my parents won a one night stay at the Four Seasons. They planned to use it themselves, but with lacrosse games, paddle tournaments, parents weekends, and work trips, they never found a time to use it.

BUT I rarely (aka, never) go away on weekends, so I was able to make sure the trip didn't go to waste.

Baltimore was especially cold this weekend, so I didn't bring any extra shoes (!) in order to save most of the room in my bag for sweaters. Which turned out to be the smartest decision I ever made.

Yes, this Burberry bag was the only bag I brought besides a small clutch.

When we drove to the Four Seasons on Saturday, our plan was to check in, do some shopping, shower & get ready for dinner, and then grab a drink before our reservation. When we checked in, we learned that our plan wasn't going to work. The hotel didn't have hot water or heat.  Luckily our room had a nice view?

I immediately fell in love with these Sperry booties when I bought them. They are so comfortable and didn't require any breaking in! They are also cut high enough that I don't have to worry about my mismatching socks peeping out the top of the shoe. This may not be a problem for everyone.

The point is that I loved these shoes so much that I didn't mind spending the whole weekend in them! Check out my second outfit below!

Merry Christmas Eve!

Christmas Eve is my favorite night of the year. Since I can remember, my family has thrown a party on Christmas Eve with all of our family friends who don't have family coming into town.

The party has grown larger over the years, and as the kids have grown up, it's become more.... spirited (in a good way, of course).

Last year, the party ended with a family beer pong tournament, at which my mother was surprisingly good.

So my house is a whirlwind of cooking, cleaning, and runs to the liquor store today. But I wanted to take time to share my 5 Christmas Eve essentials!

01. A little sparkle. Every party outfit needs a little shimmer and sparkle. This Loren Hope necklace is so versatile and beautiful, it's sure to make a statement with every outfit!

02. Festive Nail Polish. This year, I am obsessed with Essie's She's Pampered, Crocadilly, and Good as Gold

03. Chic cold weather accessories. Protect your hands (and festive mani) from the cold and travel to your Christmas Eve destination in style with these Buffalo Check gloves from C. Wonder.

04. Party Shoes! While heels are great, I love these Stubbs and Wooton classics! You can dress them up or wear them casually. Plus, if you're not the most coordinated individual (like me), these are much better dancing shoes!

05. PJs to wait for Santa in. I love LL Bean, bean boots, and these cotton flannel pajamas. The soft fabric and classic design will surely have visions of sugar plums dancing in your head in no time!

Merry Christmas everyone! And God bless us, everyone!

Let's be Jolly

Does anybody else plan their Christmas party outfits days/weeks in advance?

I've been thinking about Christmas parties and festivities since June, and now Christmas is only a few days away!!

I think this J. Crew dress is wonderful for the holidays. It's formal and modest enough for an office party but the fit and color make it interesting enough to mingle with family and friends.

I didn't want to draw more attention to the neckline by adding a necklace, so I focused on other jewelry.

I am absolutely in love with Kendra Scott jewelry. This cuff is my go-to

I love the cut of these earrings how they reflect light.

I bought these earrings on Small Business Saturday!

Despite my Kendra Scott obsession, I think the best jewelry is family jewelry. My grandmother passed down this diamond and sapphire ring when I turned 18.
